Whether you are a first time diver or simply wanting to add one more specialty courses to your belt,
we have what you want!

Mitch, our head instructor, has over 25 years of diving experience logged under his weight belt. His relaxed patient demeanor makes him the ultimate instructor. All our classes are conducted on an individual basis so drop us a line and talk to us.

The Open Water Certification Course is our most popular course. This is the course that takes you from one of the dreamers to a PADI certified Diver level. With a C-Card you will be able to dive anywhere you can find water. Thus leaving two thirds of the mother earth easily accessible to you!

The Open Water Certification consist of an intense theory section, pool work to acquaint you with the machinations of your equipment and its' functioning in the water and actual ocean diving. The entire course normally takes about a month to complete, depending on you and your daily lives. The class is tailored around your schedule, your level of comfort and progress. At no time are you to feel stressed or nervous. In fact if you feel that you need to spend five days in the pool to get that one skill perfected, well that's what we are there for.

The theory portion is generally done in the shop, but your home or a nearby cafe will suffice and takes between 8-10 hrs we do break it into three sessions. A final exam is a prerequisite before getting wet - the pool work section of the course. All pool work is done at our home and takes about 4-6 hrs. Upon the successful completion of your pool work, you would be ready for an ocean trip. We go to Monterrey or Fort Bragg (depending on weather conditions) once a month - contact us for exact times details.

Things that you will need: The eagerness to become a diver! We do ask that you have your own mask, fins & snorkel check our prices ... they cannot be beat. We can accommodate special situations. Things we supply: PADI course manual (although we highly recommend you buy one for your records,) video, BC, regulator, octopus, and weights. When we get to the ocean, you will need to rent your own tank and wet suit from an oceanfront dive shop. We only ask you to do this because we are a small dive shop and thereby we do not have a full size range in our rental wet suits. The course fee is $199.
